The SDA was passed in order to help employees improve and develop skills in the workplace. There is currently a skills development levy (SDL) that is payable to the South African Revenue Services for skills development of employees.
What is the purpose of SDA?
The main purpose of the Skills Development Act (SDA) is to develop the skills or human resource of the South African workforce, improve the quality of life of workers, their prospects of work and labour mobility. employers to use the workplace as an active learning environment.
What does Skills Development Act do?
to provide for the financing of skills development by means of a levy-grant scheme and a National Skills Fund; to provide for and regulate employment services; and. to provide for matters connected therewith.
