What are the ethical lapses?
An ethical lapse is a mistake or error in judgment that produces a harmful outcome. A lapse in ethics doesn't show a complete lack of integrity, just an oversight or an ethical blind spot. Routinely producing harmful results is not considered a “lapse”, that's just considered unethical.
What is ethical lapse example?
Examples of ethical lapses include business-related misconduct such as fraud, bribery, insider trading, and environmental disasters involving negligence or recklessness. They also include personal ethical misconduct, such as inflated résumés and sexual indiscretions.
Why ethical lapses occur in the workplace?
Ethical behaviour is acting in ways that are consistent with how the business world views moral principles and values. The four major factors that can cause ethical problems in the workplace are lack of integrity, organizational relationship problems, conflicts of interest, and misleading advertising.
What are the causes of ethical behaviour?
There are three major factors that can affect your ethical behaviour: Individual factors, such as knowledge, values, personal goals, morals and personality. Social factors, such as cultural norms, the Internet and friends and family.
What is ethical behaviour in the workplace?
Examples of ethical behaviours in the workplace includes; obeying the company's rules, effective communication, taking responsibility, accountability, professionalism, trust and mutual respect for your colleagues at work. These examples of ethical behaviours ensures maximum productivity output at work.
